Yearning Map
Anti-Instant Messaging.
Some words aren't meant for now.
Write a message today. Choose when it arrives. Send words to someone you miss, someone you love, or the person you'll become.
No rush. No instant replies. Just messages that travel through time.
How it works
- Step 1
Write your message.
Words only — no attachments, no noise. Just what you want to say.
- Step 2
Choose when it arrives.
Pick a date, a time and a time zone. Next week, next month, or up to a year from now.
- Step 3
Let the future take care of the timing.
Our servers hold it, privately, and release it when its moment comes.
Future-self messages
Write to the person you'll become. A note to yourself arrives exactly like any other message — private, unreadable until its day, and yours alone. It is not a journal; it is a letter across time.
Privacy
- Scheduled messages are invisible to everyone but you — even the recipient — until delivery.
- No public feeds, likes, follower counts or online status.
- Your date of birth and recovery details are never shown to anyone.
- Email is optional and notices never contain your words.
Questions
+Is this a chat app?
No. There is no instant messaging, no typing indicators and no online status. Every message — including every reply — is written now and delivered later.
+How exactly will my message be delivered?
A server-side scheduler checks for due messages continuously, so nothing depends on your phone or browser being open. We aim to deliver within about a minute of the time you chose. That is a target, not an exact-second guarantee.
+Can I change a message after I schedule it?
No. Once scheduled, the words, recipient and time are locked. You can cancel it any time before it begins arriving.
+Which time zone is used?
The one you pick when you schedule. It stays fixed for that message, even if you or the recipient travel or change settings later.
+Do I need an email address?
No. You sign up with a username and password and receive recovery codes. Adding a verified email is optional and only used to tell you a message has arrived — never to show its words.
+Who can write to me?
By default, people who follow you can write to you. You can narrow this to mutual followers only, or turn incoming messages off entirely, and you can block anyone at any time.
